About this brigade
Join us for a multi-day paddling expedition along the historic Peace River — one of Canada’s great northern waterways. This brigade follows the big-canoe tradition that CVBS has supported since 2008, bringing together paddlers from across Canada for shared adventure, community, and heritage.
Each team of ~10 paddlers will have a ground support team in place to move camp each day. Teams provide their own breakfast and lunch; suppers will be a mix of community-supported, team-organized, brigade-organized, and potluck meals.
What to expect
- Multi-day paddling on the Peace River, BC/AB
- Big voyageur canoes (22' and larger) with ~10 paddlers each
- Ground crew support for daily camp moves
- Daily Captains Meetings for safety and coordination
- Safety plan provided; Paddle Canada Big Canoe Leader certification encouraged (not required)
- No smaller craft — canoes under 22' are not permitted to join the brigade
How to register
Confirm your spot with a crew
Before registering with CVBS, confirm a place with a canoe crew. Contact the brigade registrar to find available crews or to list yourself as an individual seeking a berth.

All participants must hold a current CVBS membership. Annual membership: $18 adults / $10 children.

Crew leaders register their canoe, then add individual crew members. Pay the $300 deposit within 24 hours of canoe registration.

| After June 15, 2026 | No refund |
