Chief Pinesi Paddle 2026
Gatineau (Canadian Museum of History) → Kahnawake Powwow site · Ottawa River · July 5–10, 2026
“This is more than a paddle — it’s a journey carrying ideas, hopes, and dreams for a Canada where all cultures can work together in peace, harmony, and justice.”
About this brigade
Join us for an extraordinary 6-day voyage linking Anishinabe and Haudenosaunee Nations in a journey of reconciliation and shared heritage. The Chief Pinesi Paddle commemorates Chief Pinesi (1768–1834) and his legacy — paddling 180 km along the historic Ottawa River from Gatineau to arrive at the Kahnawake Powwow (July 11).
Due to overwhelming interest, organizers have reached capacity. Submit your application for the waitlist — candidates will be contacted in the order received if a position becomes available.
